Default 2002 Mustang Air Filter

How do you change the air filter? I found the clips, I undid the clips...however, I for the life of me cannot get to the filter...am I missing something? I would like to replace the paper filter wit a performance filter, however, I have no idea of how to get to the damn filter....any help would be appreciated...if you have pictures...it would really be appreciated...

Default Thank You

I now see that the dealer made no attempt to even look at the air filter prior to my purchase...there were spider eggs in the filter...and it does not look like it had been replaced in awhile...

Well now that you got it apart you may want to put in a K&N Air Filter.

Default That is the plan

Do the K&N filters really improve performance and gas mileage?

What would you say the average increase in mileage is? I have seen in various places that the increase is 1-2 mpg...
