hey guys i was wondering which would win in a race my 02 v6 mustang with dual flowmaster exhaust and cai or the 08 civic si. my boy is talking so much stuff about his new civic and i was just wondering if he would beat me

Si's have a 6-speed manual tranny. If you have an manual tanny and know how to drive then you might be able to beat him. I think it's going to be a close race (driver's race) If you have an auto then he might have a better chance of getting you(assuming he knows how to drive) Those Si's love to rev I know that for sure. If you had gears, CAI, underdrive, and tune then you might take him in the 1/8 mi.; but he would probably still out top end you.

As it stands now, not a chance.

I think it'll be drivers race. Go for it and let us know. As always practice your launch, knowing how to launch better will win you a lot of close races. Everyone thinks that because a stick has the capability of being faster, if you can shift well, they can beat you. And of course everyone is a professional driver and can out shift the best. Most of the cars I have raced were sticks, they thought that just because I had an auto I would loose. But they don't like it when I win. I will admit, a better driver in the same cars might have beat me. But then again, they weren't better drivers.

same hp is nothing...he's got a lighter car with 6 forward gears...and the motor will rev till what? over 7 grand.. he's gonna pull away from you sadly

not only can he rev almost twise as much as you he also weighs almost half as much as you(im not to sure how much he weighs) but tq gets you movin and hp keeps you movin i think you can get him off the line since you got an auto and more tq (i think) he's gonna have to be careful not to spin but im sure he'll run you down in the long run the ? is how long will it take him, but all this info is based off the fact he can drive, if he cant drive then you might win it just depends...i've seen a stock 02 camero ss beat a z06 at the local street races just beacause the rich kid in his dads z06 didn't have a clue how to drive, so drive good and you can come out on top even when the odds are against you (assuming the other guy is an average driver) LOL
