My wife and I live in upstate NY and we always notice people driving their convertibles with the top down and windows up? My 2000 is also a convert and I've tried to see if the wind is the difference or what. I didn't notice any difference with the windows up. Anyone know of another reason for this?

Windows up DOES cut down on buffeting a bit, but the big difference for me would be noise. Easier to hear the other person speak (or the cellphone).

I rarely do this sort of thing, but I have been known to do this in order to be nice to a female passenger.

I mostly see women doing this to keep from messing up there hair. I will put the windows up long enough to answer the phone, and then put them back down. Some people like the windows up on the highway because of the noise.
