there was only a cobra for the foxes in 1993.

oh and the extremely rare 1979 Cobra Turbo.

There was a Cobra model from '79 to I think '81. 1982 was the return of the GT, which superceded the Cobra.

Actually, Stanger98 is wrong and Mustang Bolt is right. The cobra ran from 1979-81 in the first fox bodies and then the GT took over as the performance package from then on until 1993 when the cobra made its return. There was no Cobra in 1983 that I have ever heard of and was probably just a carryover question from the previous years in the catalogs when buying parts. If it was a Cobra it would've had a huge snake decal that took up half the hood. Pretty cool looking actually-a design reminiscent of the 1975-78 Cobra II mustangs.

79-81 US Cobra - Could be had with the v8 or Turbo 4 (and in 1981 a non turbo 4 was available believe it or not. from a documented car at FEP).

82-92 Canadian Cobra - The GT in Canada was the Cobra for those years. Used to maintain Ford's Cobra trademark.

93+ SVT Cobras. These are the ones most newbs know about (Just joking)
