Any Suggestions? Ideas For upgrading my 2001 convertible Mustang V6

Ok so i just graduated high school and just returned from germany as well and i am looking for ideas to upgrade my car from its slow stock self....

Things Ive already done:
  • Bullit rims
  • Stereo system
  • interior floor lighting (green cold cathodes)
  • flowmaster Dual exhaust
  • and a GT bumper
that is all ive done so far in the past years that ive had my car... I would like to up my horsepower as well as the visual appearence inside and out of the car.

Current ideas i have:
  • Rear seat delete kit considering my back seat has my 2 L5 kicker subs sitting on it....
  • Cold Air intake
  • Performance chip
  • Throttle body Turbo bracket
  • and also a laptop stand for me running it into my stereo for digital EQ and music
Those are all the ideas i have and i would like to know your ideas as well which would be better ideas then other and where i should start i have a decent amount of money to spend but i want to go with some good quality cheap stuff as well.

Thanks for your time and ideas,
Crazy_whitmore

I would add gears to the list 3.73's or 4.10's, which ever you'd prefer. It will give you the added performance down low.

Gear kit should be around 200 including gear oil. Install could be anywhere from 100-500(unless you know people). Just get quotes from reputable shops that guarantee their work.

Adding weight to the car, and trying to make it faster are 2 different things.

Every 100lbs of dead weight you add to your car is about .1+ in the 1/4 mile. The subs, amp and 17" rims will make your car slower. Taking out your rear seat helps, but does not take away the fact that you added weight. I speak from experience on this.

Shiner is right. Adding wieght to our cars and trying to make it go faster doesn't work out well.

If you wanna wake up you're car. A tune would help with those lifeless shifts.

shiner is right, you should pick on which one you would like to upgrade: visual or performance. for the performance part of my stang, i only have a CAI but Im planning on a blower and a tuner. for the visual, i have racing stripes, black bullitts 17's (still have stock rims too), new headlights, tinted windows.

you have a system so if you want to feel the horses more, get gears with a t-lok (4.10 for your auto) and a CAI. with a sound system, i wouldnt go any farther.

oh yeah, a new throttle body is pretty pointless unless you are considering a power adder so i wouldnt recommend getting one since it wont do much for you.

visual upgrades that will make it look ballin:

- Mach 1 grille delete
- Mach 1 chin spoiler or a shinoda chin
- GT hood scoop
- GT side scoops
- remove that lower stripe ( it screams V6 )
- Eibach pro kit to lower your car
- 35th anniversary edition rear trunk panels

Performance upgrades to make it quicker:

- J-mod kit for the automatic tranny
- 4.10 gears with a handheld tuner
- Underdrive pullies
- cold air kit
- Gt rear sway bar
- subframe connectors

those are some basic mods that I would do in your place...

only bad thing about speed or performance is i know i can get into trouble with it but im now considering selling all my system at which i have about 700 - 1200 rapped up in that so.... there is some more money to work with... i mean i love my system but i wanta go fast as well and well i dont have to pay a installation fee on anything i get the parts and well my dad is a mechanic so.... im sure we can figure it all out... and if you could please gimme a estimate on about how much each performance part might cost. just the part not including work.... and just wondering this wat is the stock HP on a 3.8L v6??? just wondering...
