Yes and no. The motors are basically the same, but one is internally balanced(04) and one is externally balanced.(00) You would need the flexplate or flywheel from the 04 as well. You would also need to deal with the IMRC's that the '04 has.

Why do you want to swap with the 04 engine they do not have any more power. I would just look for any split-port with decently low miles if you are set on doing an engine swap. Why do you want to do an engine swap anyway? High miles? Blown up engine?
