so i was sitting here wondering how the new eclipse GS would do against a sixer and i was hopin for opinions.... think yall can gimme a possible outcome for a lets say 2007 eclipse and a 96-98 stang a 2001-2004 stang and then against a new stang too
see thats where im a lil iffy... like on my 96 bone stock has 150 hp where the 2007 eclipse has 165 hp but the mustang has a lot more torque than the clipse the eclipse also have better stock gears then the 96-98 stangs which makes me wonder... i also happened to notice that the redline on the eclipses start a lil before 7000 which is pretty high imo... these are just thoughts that make me wonder... i really wanna hear some thoughts on a 96-98 v6 against a 06 or 07 eclipse gs (and im sure you all figure im wanting to race some dude but my friend just got one and i was just wondering how i would stack up with it cus unless we go out to the track there wont be a race)
I have a new edge, 2000 v6. I have beaten Eclipses on the straight away, but they will kill you on turns, unless you do some suspension mods. Even then he may take you on turns. My mom has one and it corners like its nothing. Mines faster but hers is fun to drive to.

you would win. There's no doubt. He's got NO go from off the line, he'd have to have a miracle to actually catch up down the track. Then again, if you have an auto and he has a manual, it'll be much closer.
You also gotta look at weight as well (which I didn't) I don't know how much lighter the eclipse is, but, that could be another factor that leans towards the Eclipse.
u woulds definetly win against the eclipse due to the torque and probably the weight difference
