I have an 08 v6, and my bro has an 08 GT and im kinda tired of getting smoked by him... I want to get something under the hood behind his back like a GT killer supercharger... a.) How much do they cost ballpark? b.) is there another solution?
Can't wait to see his face...
Depends on the size of the shot. With your stock internals I would probably not go above a 75-100 shot if you want the engine to last any length of time with regular use of the Nitrous. lol
The size of the shot is usually the amount of hp/trq it delivers. The trq. that nitrous gives you is amazing.
You may want to repace some of the cheaper things on the car while your at it too though. To me this is a lot of money, but I know for some people they are able to drop 1k on there cars whenever they want but. Redoing the whole Intake/Exhaust setup (Cold Air, Headers, Exhaust) can run you anywhere from 600 (If you buy the no name brands) to 1200ish. Add's a decent amount of HP (Not enough to beat a GT though) , and will make the car sound amazing

Full bolt-ons on the 4.0L can get them into the mid to high 13's with a competent driver. That is a good enough time to race most stock GT's.
Full bolt-ons does mean everything though. lol It is certainly more expensive that way but it would be nice to drop over a second off on times with just bolt-ons.
you could try a turbo set up, using a used Holset turbo. they perform like garrets or precsions, but are also more durrable. you would need a manifold, the turbo, some sort of oiling sysytem, and an intercooler. you will get rediculous power, but youre looking at spending atleast $1500.
just an idea...
but nitrous is the easiest way to get the GT. A 75 shot would put you right there with him, if not in front.

Hide your brothers car keys and then you should be able to beat him. It'll take a pretty good chunk of cash to get your car up to where it needs to be in order to beat a GT.
got a M112 Supercharger kit and you will have no rwhp than a GT. thats what i am planning to get.

It is a good thing that he can easily put the M112 onto his 4.0L... The M112 is a good mod for a split-port V6 but the 4.0L in the 05+ is a completely different engine type than the OHV 94-04 V6's.

thats why i hate when people post in the wrong thread. there is a 05+ thread, people should use it.

^+1111 Nitrous will not hurt the engine if he does a small 50-75 shot every once in a while. If he were to go around 2-3 times a day doing 100 shots then no his engine would not last as long but hopefully he would be smarter than that. lol
