You're thinking of the SCT tuner. A good choice. There's also the diablo sports tuner. Sounds like a good plan. You should consider getting a lsd if you get gears, that way you put power to both wheels. With just bolt ons like those, you may need a minor spray of nitrous if you want to outrun GT's..

If you want to stay N/A, check out supersixmotorsports.com, they have what you'll need to run with the gt's, heads, cams, intakes, etc.

With those mods mentioned above, you can run a stock 94-95 GT and maybe some later SN95's but New Edges might give you some trouble and the S197's (forget about it)

An LSD is a Limited Slip Differential, it puts power to both wheels, instead of just one so you can launch better, etc. You'll have an easier time catching up to an SN-95 GT than a New Edge or S197, so that'll make things a little easier.

Again, LSD stands for limited slip differential. Try a google search to find prices. I'd wait and see if you're seriously considering putting steeper gears in, because the cost of labor would be alot less doing the two at the same time than seperately.

They are called t-locks in Fords......

To beat a stock GT, you need more than just a tuner. A nitrous kit would do it......

In order for your to legitimately contend with 99-04 GT's, you're almost certainly going to need one of the following:

- Ported Heads and a matched Cam
- Nitrous
- Supercharger
- Turbocharger

You MIGHT be able to run with some of them if you have FULL bolt-ons, gears and t-loc, weight reduction, suspension, and DR's, but that's not usually what people want for a daily driver.

If you REALLY want to run with GT's, you need to figure out what your goal is, set a plan to get there, and stick to it. Otherwise, you'll get side-tracked and you'll either not reach the goal or you'll spend too much money getting there.

Good luck.

BTW, 3.73's are gears for your rear differential, not cam gears like on an OHC engine.

ok , which is better then turbocharger or supercharger ? i dont like the nitrous idea and for a turbocharger you need turbo headers which is gonna cost 600 dollars seperate from the full kit

o and another thing , i am buying these parts this week and getting them put on hopefull at the end of the next week depending when all my parts come so i wil have those out of the way

then i can work on the bigger thing like turbo or super .. havent decided yet

Depends on your budget and intended use. SC's are usually favored for street/track - turbos for strip.

It will cost a lot more for a turbo, and I wouldn't recommend using one with stock components unless you have an SC rotating assembly.

Anyone ever do a t-lock in an 8.8? I'm doing gears shortly, trying to figure out if I should do the t-lock while I'm there, or if I can wait. Do you need to pull the ring&pinion to drop it in, or do you just pull the spiders?
