Default ANOTHER split port swap thread

Ok well for a while I had been thinking about doing the split port swap on my car and i had a deal lined up for the heads upper and lower intake for 150$ well after talking to my father (i dont know much about the v6s about doing it... he has owned his own shop for 20+ years) well he was telling me that the new weight from the heads on my block could mess with the rings and pistons... any thoughts? Then i was reading over a lot of the split port posts and there was some where ppl just rave about the split port intakes and heads and such then there was a few in there where everyone was saying the single port has better flow... i understand how the split port stuff works and how the shorter tubes produce more high end hp but i wanna know why some people are saying the single port has better flow.

Single port intakes, when ported properly, can flow more cfm than the 99+ intakes.

haha its alright weve all been there cfm is cubic feet per minute is just a measure of how much air can fit in in an amount of time, so when the singles are ported properly they can fit more air in but im still doing split port on my car, i think the long and short runners help alot more than just air and im sure you can get a split port ported to almost the same amount of cfm

Most people do not need that much air flowing into their engine anyway. A mildly modded single-port or split-port is still a quick car. It is just when you start getting into the higher hp numbers and you need the better flowing is when it matters.
