2000 Mustang Bumper or Bumper Cover whats the difference?

im looking at getting a NEW bumper for my 2000 mustang coupe & i dont really get the difference between the bumper cover and the bumper

The bumper cover is the part you see,the bumper is the part behind that.

bumper cover = painted plastic seen

Bumper = metal behind the plastic that actually helps stop your car from being mush
