Burning out should only be done to heat the tires in a controlled race situation IMHO. Other than that, most of the burn outs I see only indicate the tires losing traction (I see it far too often when folks leave a car wash). Almost any car, given the right conditions can burn out or do doughnuts. But like I said, this type of thing does not "prove" much of anything in itself... except in most cases irresponsible and immature drivers.
It is kind of sad actually, if folks started waving loaded guns around they would get in trouble and the majority of people would condemn the actions... yet people jump into cars and do things just as dangerous (if not more so) and others not only seem to think it is cool, but encourage it.
