Default i dont know what to do

alright so my car is all stock basically and i want to lower it about 2 inches. how do you think this would look. me personally i think it would be cool and also handle a little bit better but i just dont know. so far i have gotten a catback exhaust and a cold air intake. i was going to get 3.73 gears but someone told me that if i do that i should do a v8 engine swap. is this true? what other things could i do to me car. i dont know very much about what makes the car go faster except for the obvious.......supercharger, turbo....... but i dont know like what bolt ons i could get for cheap and just little things for cheap to make my car go faster. and with all that i mentioned that i had on there does anyone know how much horsepower im pushing. i figured that i am pushin around 210 but im not sure. someone please help me out that would be great. thanks alot

You should be about 190 hp stock. lowering your car would look pretty good and and help on handling but would also make for a rougher ride. its really going to depend on whats more important to you. some of these other guys can help you a lot more on power adders.

the reason that i think that i have around 210 horses is because i race alot of cars that have around 210 horses and kill em. like i raced two 1999 eclipse turbos and killed them. i also raced a eagle talon and killed it. that is the reason i would say im around that. but i may be a complete retard. hahahahhah

You probably have about 165rwhp.

And you probably beat eclipses that are 200k and on their last leg.

^+1 The 99-04 comes stock with 190-193 crank hp or 155-165rwhp depending upon tranny.

If you are looking at lowering 2 inches or more then you are going to need more than just springs if you want any type of tire life at all. You will need better shocks/struts, caster/camber plates, bumpsteer kits, and probably the Steeda X2 balljoints. Those will get you back on track with correct steering geometry so that you will not be handling horribly and eating up tires every 4-6 months.

Okay.... what car beats what car in a lot of cases is NOT the car, but the driver. Many professed street racers simply don't know how to drive. Sure they can put their foot on the gas and can keep their car between the lines, but that is not "driving". Just putting someone in a good car does not guarantee a win, nor does having "less" of a car mean you will lose. You have magazine and dyno races, and you have real world races.... and they don't always come up with the same results.

But with that said, keep the races on the track please...... the world will thank you for it.

As for lowering the car, with V6's I think a slight tire size increase along with a very modest drop looks best. It balances out the wheel wells visually and gives the car a great looking stance without making it look "slammed". Plus I am not a big fan of really lowered cars anyways since I live in New Hampshire and the roads are not kind to low clearance vehicles. LOL
