Default 2003 Mustang V6 flowmaster44

hey im new to this site
i have a white 2003 mustang v6 and besides the bad gas milage my biggest complaint about the car is how queit it is
i was looking into making that change and i was wondering if anyone knows whether on a tight budget of about 300-400$ if it would be better to get a full dual exhaust kit or what im leaning towards right now, just a super 44 muffler put directly on the stock pipes to get the right sound. Ive heard good and bad about both and im not sure.
im not planning on having the car for more than a year or 2 more before i move on to something better so i dont want to put too much money into it
if any has an opinion write back and if the muffler by itself is a gud choice cud anyone tell me which side the inlet and outlet would be on a v6 for the muffler?

If you're not planning on keeping the car that long, you probably should just do a muffler swap. It would probably cost under $140 to do that. A dual exhaust with an h or x pipe and tailpipes will cost anywhere from the high $300s to low $400s. It would be a little louder if you go with the dual setup.

I have flowmaster 44's. They're loud enough for me, and sound pretty agressive for a V6. They were a tad more expensive than plain jane 40 series though, but I think it was worth it. I have no cross over either.

If I can figure out how to load the darn thing onto the computer, I'd be more than happy to put it up. Stupid technology.

The super 44's are a good muffler. But if you want the most out of your Mustang sound wise, I would go with the original Flowmaster 40's. When I got mine done I had my heart set on the 44's. But the mechanic said the 40's were a smaller muffler and would give me a better sound. So I went with those instead, and I'm not disappointed at all. I love the way it sounds.

Just my .02,
Gridleak

BTW: My step up is just a fabbed up h-pipe the shop did and dual Flowmaster 40's.

Are you talking about the "original" ones before the delta flow 40s? I ended up with the originals. They're supposed to be a little louder than the delta flows.

Lol, It can be complicated but it's really not that difficult. The only thing I can't stand sometimes is the loading time

Go on YouTube. There are hundreds of videos of v6 Mustangs and all kinds of combinations. That might help you out.

I had an exhaust shop custom build me dual 2.5" straight pipes with original Flow 40 series on there for less than 400 bucks. its almost un-noticeable at idle but at WOT it sounds kinda mean. i really like it, and it definetly added some HP to the mix.
