Get the 40 series flowmaster catback, I get a nice roar out of it and mine is a 4banger. Doesn't sound riced at all. What you do hear is an aggressive rumble.

Is there anywhere that sells this as a bolt-on install kit? Or would I have to go to an exhaust shop and have them custom fab the exhaust with the Flowmasters? A kit would work better for me since shops up here want $650 or higher with mufflers and tips.

Yes they do, you can either use clamps or weld. Depending on your mustangs year, this is what I found for the 98 GT. All it takes is a couple of bolts being tightened. http://mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=17215+01 You can still browse around and include your year mustang in the search box.

I bought my 2000 v6 stang about six months ago, and the first thing I wanted to do was true duel it out. My buddies told that true dueling a v6 was pointless and that it will sound crappy. Well I took my stang to the exhaust shop and they custom fabed a h-pipe with flowmaster 40s and stainless steel tips. Let me tell you, its sounds sweet. Some people think I have a V8 when I take off!!! It sounds mean and I also get that mean rumble.

Hey, Nick - could you tell me roughly how much you paid for your custom h-pipe & flowmaster 40s? I just bought a 2000 V6 a month ago (my hubby wanted a V8). He wants to put flowmasters on its & was wondering if anyone else out there has done it. Any info you've got would be appreciated. Thanx!

Hey Deb,

Well for pricing, I shopped around. I paid about 425.00 to get mine done. That was with the custom H-pipe and flowmaster 40s and labor. The highest price quote someone gave me was about 600.00. But I just shopped around for the best price. I also wanted a V8, but it was a bit out of my price range Actually my wife suprised me with it. She took that car to fix a exhaust leak, and she came back with dual exhaust!!!!!

Hi Nick -
Thanks for answering. My hubby's excited now! We checked with one of the shops here at the Lake today (there aren't a lot to choose from around here) & their "exhaust" guy is on vacation 'til Tuesday. We asked if he's the expert & the girl said, "...well, I wouldn't go that far..." Ha! Guess we'll try another shop. We figured it would probably run around $500+.
By the way, that's a good wife you've got there! Better hang on to her Thanks again.

+1 on the 40's. It's what I have on both my cars.
