Probably the weld did not hold.
Fabricate a piece of thicker stock that will act as a bridge (several inches on either side of the break) and weld it and the frame back together, positioning the support piece away from the wear pattern. If the break is on a piece of rod, this can also be done with a matching piece of rod in the same fashion.
If the break is at the apex of the bend, match the bend with your support piece that you are adding.
Check to make sure you have all the clips and hogrings that are used to keep everything organized properly. Replace any that are missing.

I rewelded the frame and put the seat back together but it really did not improved the situation.
I'm ready to take a second crack at fixing the seat, but want to make sure I get it fixed this time. I looked at my local foxbody junk yard but they want $75 for a sport seat which I think is rather expensive for a junk seat. All I need is a sport seat back frame or some clue about what I can do to fix the one I have. The sport seat also has the air lumbar so the back frame is basicly a square pan with the middle open.
Any ideas on fixing my seat or finding a reasonable donor seat frame would be greatly appreciated!
