Well first one would have to establish if your amp is really 1200 RMS watts. Most likely it is really only about 600 RMS at the most, which means that it is truly only going to produce around 500 to 600 on a continuous basis. The only way that amp would ever do 1200 watts would be under perfect lab conditions where it is at such a low impedence that it would blow up in about 5 seconds. (but it all depends on the amp manufacturer, some rate their equipment that way, some rate it correctly) But back to the original question, you will not have a problem my buddy and I put over a 4000 watt audio system in his 04 cobra with underdrives. Also my car has around a 2000 watt system and i have underdrives as well. So the major thing that you would need to worry about is the amperage on your alternator. However that is if and only if you have a problem which you shouldnt.

Hold up a second. Your buddy put underdrive pullies on a 04 cobra? Did he get a blower pulley that would counter the crank underdrive?
