I've see and been a part of a lot of animosity between V8's and, well...anything else. I have never owned a performance car, muscle car, sports car or the likes of until now. Before I bought my 05 V6, the only reason I wanted a six was cuz I wanted a big crate engine and swapping out a six is cheaper than buying a GT and swapping the engine.
Anyway, since I have owned my V6, I have come to appreciate the car. I drive it like I'm sixteen again. It looks aggressive and it sounds mean as hell. Someone in another thread said he has a friend with a supercharged V6 that is slower than '99-'04 GT's. I had an impromptu race on a local road with some teenagers in a last-gen GT. After they admired my car (not knowing it's a six), I pulled in behind them in his lane, and he got on the gas. I stayed right on his tail the entire time and he never pulled away from me.
I bought my car exactly as it is right now, and as far as I know the engine is stock. It keeps up with older GTs very easily.
As far as other makes and models...when I see a nice looking/running car, I appreciate it and compliment them. (Unless it's a 16/17 yo kid who just appears to be spoiled and had their car handed to them and all work done was paid for)
My sixer fools a lot of people with an otherwise stock setup...It just looks very mean, and sounds meaner, and I know how to drive it.
