Default How is this possible? This thing really must be modded. Scion TC Vs V6 Mustang

Check out this video from youtube this is NOT a supercharged version of the Scion TC and even if it was it only puts out 10 more HP than a stock 99-04 v6 and 30ftlbs LESS of torque. But anyways I want my mustang brothers and sisters to evaluate this video and tell me "THIS THING AS TO BE MODDED OUT THE BOOTY!!" You may have to just cut and paste the link into your browser because I know that these videos dont always work on AFM.

First of all... The Scion TC has 160hp not 200hp... It has 10 more hp than a 94-98 V6. From a standstill they are about even with the 94-98 V6 but in the upper rpm range they start to pull away from all the 94-04 V6's. The 3.8L is made for down low power compared to the TC that is made for upper rpm power.

I am at home and can not view the video right now, I will look at it tomorrow or Friday and give my opinion on how modded it is then.

Also, they respond decently to bolt-ons and when you f/i them they can be crazy little cars.

Well, obviously by the sound it has an exhaust. Hard to tell what else it has but I bet an CAI is not out of the question. Also take into fact that a lot of races come down to the driver. The guy in the Scion tC simply out drove him, better launch and reaction time. Many races are won at the beginning

wat. they are not even close to being even with us stock for stock. Back when my car was pretty much stock, I raced one. Pulled hard on it from a stop and STILL pulled from a dig. Scion's are not built for speed, whatsoever. They're built to be a rolling amphitheater. Stock for stock, Scion's cannot touch even a single port v6 and I'm proof of that. What that video shows is a highly modded car, no where near stock as well as a terrible driver in the mustang.

I cant agree with you more Stanger. This thing has to be modded and anyone who doesnt believe us check the stats on an 08 scion and 99-04 V6 Mustang HP AND TORQUE LOOK BELOW. CLICK ON THE LINKS. ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE STOCK ON STOCK

lol, comparing a split port mustang to it is like comparing apples to oranges. The mustang that would be the "challenger" of the tC would be 94-98. 150BHP and 215TQ. And even then, like I said, I pulled on the tC like it was nothing.

As you can probably see in the video, the mustang is completely stock, with stock rims, etc. The driver really just doesn't know how to shift either as you can see the car lurch when he shifts and he spins the tires off the line because he just dumped the clutch. It would've been close to an even race if the driver was not sub-par. Nonetheless, videos like that are what make v6 mustang owners look bad. just look at all of the retard responses on the video.

Like Stanger said the 94-98 mustang V6's would be better to compare to it but not the 99-04 V6's. Even at that the 94-98 V6 would easily burn the scion from a dig they have 60 more pounds of torque than a scion TC so do the math. Me and Stanger are just thinking logical here were not bashing on the scion TCs. And you are right stanger I didnt notice it until you pointed it out but yeah usually those stock rims say that the person doesnt have any engine mods but that Scion had to have had A LOT OF MODS DONE TO IT! And stanger is right these videos make ALL us mustang V6 owners look bad and there were extremely retarded responses to this video.

perhaps the car was intended to be a sleeper...and the video somewhat showed it is what it was...only it didn't wake up hehe

the scion's got some beef in there, no doubt.

observing the mustang's behavior under acceleration, it didn't seem like the driver even knew what he was doing

If you listen closely in the video you can here the TC purge the N2O. Which would explain it.

That would definetely explain it becuase I dont see a stock 160 hp/torque car beating a 190hp/220torque car, like that bad. Plus there engine is an inline 4 its not even a v6.
