Default 2001 Mustang gas tank fill tube leak.

I have a leak in the gasket where the fill tube goes in to the gas tank. Is there any way to fix this without having to drop the tank?

man i had the same exact problem and i tried using all types of fuel glues and things on it but in the end i just had to get a new filler neck

Was it absolutely necessary to drop the fuel tank to change it out?
