Default i am confused on under drive pulley's

so i want to buy underdrive pulleys but everyone that i have talked to here in my hometown have told me not to waste my time and money. i have a 2001 v6 5-speed. i just want to know some more information before i buy them. i also want to know if i replace all of them or which ones i replace. i know i wont get alot of horsepower from them. but i just want to know some more information or if they are a waste of money and time.

I definitely saw an improvement with my U/D pullies, haven't had any charging problems or anything like that. I had replaced two pullies, the alternator and the crankshaft pully. Got mine from americanmuscle and it works fine. The only thing was I had to get a new belt, a 95 inch one to be exact (I forgot what the stock was but it was way too loose). Some people consider them a waste of money, I figured I just did mine because it was cheap horsepower.

alright cool thanks, i figured that i would do it anyways because i mean its extra horsepower and i want all the horsepower i can get. i was also wandering if installation was easy or hard. i saw a video how to change them but that was for a v8 mustang. do they have like a pack with all the pulley's in them or do you know.

Did you see the installationg video on AutoHow.tv? Because eventhough it was on a V8, it's pretty much similar when you're installing your new UDP. All you'll need is a torque wrench and a pulley puller tool.

Are you deciding to go Forced Induction (Turbo)? Non Naturally-Aspirated (Supercharged)? Or Nitrous in the future? If so, the size of your UDP is very important when you're deciding to add LOADS of power on your crank...

yes there are different sizes, depending on how tight a pulley you want. having too tight of a pulley with a Forced Induction can cause some issues.

I've only seen 25% or 42% reduction size of the pulley...

Honestly, I think it's best if you stay stock if you're going Turbo...but you could always ask Tom Shiner here at AFM about UDPs on a power-added V6.

Tis why I have decided to just stay stock...I'm going 4.2L Stroker Supercharged, I don't want my crank to suffer from that power...

I could be wrong though. [shrugs]
