Came back from the local swap meet with a pair of the classic 60's fender badges. I could not say no to $2 worth of classic material!! One of my badges on my 2001 broke the tail off, and I'd rather do something fun and a little retro instead of buying new stick on's. The chrome is de-laminating and the color is almost completely faded, so a reconditioning is in order. Any ideas or kits out there for DIY nickle plate, or mebe some cheap hick trick out of wall-mart? Open to Ideas here! I'm probably going to use my dremel and cut the steel pins off the back and use some 3M automotive adhesive or something to attach them.

Nice write-up! I like the JB weld idea. I've used it allot for interior custom work, but I had not thought to use it to fill in the backing. My emblems are solid steel with no inserts, but I need to find a way to refinish them. Being as cheap as I am, I don't want to blow a $100 on $2 emblems, so most plate kits and so-on are out of my range, but I'm going to try to buff as much as possible with my dremel and rough up the surface so I can paint them or clear them. I'm trying to find someone with a sandblaster that has a soft abrasive, but again no luck so far. Thanks for the FYI!
here they are, nothing to go wild about, but definitely will add a little retro to the new edge! I'll post pics when I mount them, hopefully it looks good.
