Skip the shorties as your stock exhaust manifold do just fine. I would go with 3.73's and a tuner kit. Also do the exhaust too to give your car some growl.

Default performance

Upgrade your suspension, and stiffen up the body, then go with total power. Fobra559 stated a good point. you could also go with a turbo or supercharger. change driveshafts to a lighter one as well when you do the gears. Change your exhaust to a true dual systme and add some tone that way.

As already stated, skip the shorties.
How much money do you want to spend? What do you want the car to do? <- Don't just say I want it to be faster, give us a tangible goal.

Get the shorties just get even flow hedders. Some Spray would be chept way of geting some some power stiffen the suspension and get an msd to retard the timing. And a full true duel exhuast. With A CAI to get the air flowing.

i know the car is automatic, one reason its slow off the line. but i want to increase the acceloration which is mostly why i am disapointed.!

i take it headers aren't worth the purchase?
also wondering if POSI will increase the acceloration?

no headers aren't worth it. just go 3:73 rear end gears along with a t-loc, with a tuner to match like said before. you won't regret it.
