I'm new to the forums and wanted to post my first one. I have a 1999 Mustang v6, everything's stock. I'm trying to decide whether to do body mods or engine mods first. And if so, what mods do you suggest.
Hey I have a GT so not a hundred percent sure on the best path to take with your car but which one you do first all depends on one key thing. That is what do you want out of your car? Do you want the looks first or do you want the power first? If going with the power side of things I would start with the basics ehaust, intake, rearend gears, a Super Chips computer chip...but in the end it all depends on what you want out of the car now.
start with the body regardless bro..
you know you have decent torque and HP for now..
get the looks.
hood, spoiler, moldings, rims, tires, grille, etc..
then unto the fun part, cold air, x pipes, all that goood stuff
My car has the "sleeper" look, the OEM style...lol
Anyway, exactly what these gys told you. Figure out what type of power you want to get out of your V6...because anything is possible if you have the money/hookups for things.
For Show mods go with smoked headlights and the infamous mach 1 chin spoiler.
For GO! mods, you want your car to be able to breathe and also run with both legs. CAI (Cold Air Intake), Dual Exhaust for your air flow. LSD (Limited Slip Differential) & Gears for your traction on the rear wheels.
But figure it out first man. You don't want to start doing something and then change your mind when you've spent some decent amount of money...It's what I did.

Id say do the performance first then the looks. there are alot of things you can do with your v6 deside how much you want to spend first. if you want a lot of power just get a GT cause it cost alot a to make a v6 fast. Start off geting the air flowing with CAI and exuast. thats the first you should do.
go for the cai and exhaust first ... get dual flowmaster 40's and the AM (American muscle) cai. its on sale 70 bucks right now... easy 7 hp... sounds cool too after that got for gears throttle body LSD (limited slip differential) makes both tires spin better traction. then after you have all that get underdrive pulleys but if you have a kickin system in your car you could run your battery dead. just be careful with that. after all that stuff then your gonna need some nice rims to hold some nice street tires to grip the road then do whatever you want to the body. after that save for a PA (power adder) and clutches + tires lol
I say keep it a sleeper and go for performance mods but it's really up to you on what you want to do. I agree with fobra559....Under the hood first......a pretty pony doesnt always make it the fastest.....(I apologize if this sounds like blasphemy)
First off it is my belief that ALL engine mods come before appearance mods, come on you dont want your car looking faster than it is right? with that said id tell you to get either exhaust or a CAI being that the exhaust sounds better and the CAI is the best bang for your buck. I hope this helps
