What kind of a niose would i get if i cut off 2 catalytic converters from my mustang. the current setup is dual flowmasters with straight pipes and a 3.5 tip. would i get a different sound if i just cut off 2 because many people say that if i cut off all four then it will sound raspy. if there is a video with a mustang with only two cats and same set up as me. please send me the link. It would sound raspy if you have a "x" pipe. Even more raspy if you have a o/r x.

If you cut off 2 of them it wont sound raspy because your running straght pipes. It might give you more of a deeper sound and alittle more free flowing but thats it. You wont see much at all.

so what your saying is that since i have straight pipes it wont sound raspy, but i would not gain power, but i will hear a noise difference when i cut 2 cats off? so what if i cut off all four?

If you have emissions testing, than you cannot cut off the rear cats. The rear O2's are located there as well. You could delete them, but then you run into the sound problem.

I have LT's on my '01 with straight through pipes and 2 mufflers that stop before the axles, and the only time it sounds good is when I'm pumping the nitrous through it at the track. Other than that, it can get raspy up top, but I don't care because I went with performance......
