Question 98 v6 exhaust set up

Hi, i recently bought a pypes converterback exhaust for my 98 v6. I was not really impressed with the sound and i want to upgrade. Im wondering if i just switched out the muffler's with some flowmaster's would that sound much better. Or should I just forget the converterback and go with a true dual system? Any reply's would help a lot. thanks.

Go with a true dual exhaust. That will open up the sound somewhat. You could go with Flowmaster mufflers if you wanted. I personally am not too big of a fan of them. That is just because every one and their mother has a Flowmaster exhaust around here. I like Magnaflow.

true duals and mufflers of your choice. just had this done with custom h-pipe. opens it up and gives you a little more passing power. nothing dramatic but noticeable. overall smoother at higher rpm's

well thank's that help's. Ill probally go with the true dual but what's this about the custom h-pipe. I've heard some people say they cut off their stock y-pipe right after the cats and then just connected it to the pipes. Is this a good idea and is their a kit for doing this somewhere? That would deffinitly save some money by not having to by a brand new h-pipe.

na the v6 doesnt really need an h-pipe the true duals are fine... we dont make that much exhaust :P but dont go bigger than a 2.5 in pipe
