also, i thought i might add... the '05+ have better top end than previous 6's... running down almost a mile of PUBLIC highway, the 4.0L will walk away from you. if you want any chance of beating him, go to the track, your tq peaks around 2,500rpm and you having a manual, plus the added traction of being at a track will really help you out a lot. its just so risky running WOT for almost a mile straight on public streets. ESPECIALLY for 150 bucks??? come on now.... not to mention if he takes away his top-speed limiter, he'll get to at least 135mph, whereas you will hit 115 with your speed limiter, MAYBE 125 without a speed limiter.

bottom line, an all-around bad idea...

If you look at my previous posts in this thread I already mentioned the fact that the 4.0L has better top end... lol It also has better bottom end for that matter too. It is better all around stock compared to our 3.8L's. Stock for Stock the new V6's would outperform our SN95's in every category. Nearly everything was improved on the new model.

How many times do we have to stress to retards that street racing is for retards, and putting people in danger for a 150 dollar race is the most stupidest thing i have ever heard.
especially with a thread title such as this $150 aint crap

i don't doubt that...however with my handful of boltons i easily take s197 4.0L's in the 1/8, he has a couple boltons on his sn95, so he stands a very decent chance at a track. on open road, i totally agree; forget about it, no chance.

and no...i missed what you said about the top end...i was hoping our cars at least had better bottom end;lol oh well....
s197 4.0L : what rpm does the tq peak and how much?

240trq at 3500rpm stock. They are decent little engines stock. lol I like the engines a lot more than our 3.8L's. Imagine how quick our model's would be if we had that engine in our cars and how well they respond to bolt-ons. I despise the way that Ford cuts the legs out from under the Mustang. Sure they have good power in the V6 and GT but they weigh a **** load too.

Torque gets you out of the hole, horsepower carries you down the track. Do not get hung up on torque. The 05+'s are also heavier than the '02's by at least 300#.

My old '01 setup made 193rwhp and 240rwtq with CAI, gears, and a 93 tune. The IMRC's and windage trays were not part of the original hp estimates Ford published.
