speed can kill but sometimes a race can be worth it right?
ok im 16 drive a 2002 3.8 v6 manual mustang i have a K&N filter, B&M sports performance shifter, and dual flomasters...there's a girl at school, Nicole Dixon drives a 07 4.0 v6 automatic mustang bone stock i challenged her to a race just jokin cause i have no interest in doing so but she joking-ly mentioned it to her dad who said she couldn't race me but he said he would drive against me under 1 condition we race for $150, so i wanna know what my chances are, so can i win???

Thats tough, I think that becuase you are making a little bit more power and have less weight you should have an advantage. However, you need to be on your game with the stick, atleast you have some decent boltons. He will be more consistant because all he has to do is hit the gas and go. However, if you make your shifts and are on your game you should win, good luck.

thanks man i plan on lowring my rear tire pressure to around 32 psi considering that they recommend 44 psi which is what i keep them at and if im not mistaken my car is quicker on top end than bottom end and it's a long race, im guessing it's close to 3/4 of a mile on straight flat blacktop and i think i might loose the jumpweather i spin or not but i know i'll lunge prolly a car lenght on him when i shift to 2nd...am i right about this info???

You'll have to drive your butt off, her car should have you, but not by a whole lot, 3/4 mile is too long for a smart race, at that distance it isn't safe, especially on the street, and it'll probably come down to who lifts or wrecks first. Hate to be a party pooper, but be careful, that kind of race can get you killed or in jail.

I used to have a 4.0 mustang those things are slow as hell especially for an automatic. You should beat him if you shift right. I lost to a SAAB 95 Aero in my 4.0 by a fair amount.
So a grown parent wants to street race a kid who just got his license and then illegally gamble with him. Is it just me, or has the world lost all of its integrity?

seriously. He won't let his daughter race but he'll race you? dude any smart parent would either tell the kid not to race or take it to the track. Though I gotta say if you do race, good luck and be smart.
Cars racing at the track have to go through tech inspection in order to run. They only have themselves and one other person to worry about when going fast......
Here's something no one has mentioned yet. The old man may have some mad driving skills. I have won races that should have been close or that I should have lost by being a better driver. At 16, you have very little driving experience, he might take you.

Dad's driving an auto...
not much driving skills needed.

Why would you race to the top end? The 4.0L has a better top end than the 3.8L by a good margin. lmao
I think it is a dumb idea regardless so I wouldn't advise you to race. Why would a grown adult give in to a high schooler talking ****? Is the father that low on self-esteem that he has to race a high schooler who just got his license?

Street racing is stupid.......
End of story.......

How many times do we have to stress to retards that street racing is for retards, and putting people in danger for a 150 dollar race is the most stupidest thing i have ever heard.

Dad challenges kid, dad calls the cops, kid goes to jail. Am I the only one thinking that?
If he really wants to race, tell hime to meet you at the track

ok, first of all: 44psi is the maximum allowable pressure written on your sidewall, but that is NOT what you are supposed to be drving around on, 32 is where you should be for everyday normal driving. 44psi is only if you have your car loaded down full of passengers and luggage and whatnot. if you keep running 44psi your tires are going to wear their center away very very quickly.
and second of all: the dad seems very immature to want to streetrace a teenager, don't stoop to his level. if you race anyone, go to a track...you'll never hook up on the street the way you do on a track, plus you don't risk cops/accidents.
