Well do you guys have any ideas? I'm not going that fast all the time lol but I have tested my speed and 95 is right about where it quits. I drive a manual too. I knew this wasn't right
uhhh...
heres a quick thing you can check
turn the car off, put a brick or something on the gas pedal, and then pop the hood and find where the throttle body connects to the throttle cable, and see if you can open the throttle plate any further. i had an issue with that, turns out i had a bottle cap under my floormat, so i wasnt getting WOT, i was topping out around 102.
if your gas pedal is floored but the plate is not fully open, maybe your floormat is in the way, or maybe the cable is out of adjustment.
Well I checked the plate and thats not the problem. I'm totally stumped. Someone help!
damn...
well, back to the drawing board
what happens exactly, does it accelerate normally and then suddenly quit at 95, or does it kinda crawl to 95mph?
hard to say... could be a restriction in intake airflow, exhaust airflow, or fuel starvation...
It accelerates at what I would call normal speed and then you get over 85 it starts to slow down and then it just doesnt go much further I wouldn't say it tops out at 95 but it doesn't get to 100 and it doesnt get near redline.
well my car tops out at 115 and im thinking what might be wrong with you is the throttle plates. you have one large throttle plate and when you dis assemble the throttle body there are 6 (or 8 if you have a v8) throttle plates you may have to clean those of one of them may be stuck. dont know if that could be a reason but i think it might be and i hopefully helped you out a little bit
did you notice this before or after your CAI was installed?
does your car slow down when nearing redline in all gears?
check for vacuum leaks in your CAI, make sure everything is hooked up properly...
has your car been tuned?
This has been a problem since before the CAI was put on. It doesn't slow down near redline going through gears and I'm gonna check everything you guys said today and I'll let you guys know.

What's your gas mileage like? Usually bad mpg would indicate it is something wrong with the motor/computer. Clean your MAF sensor, that might help.

Well yeah I have bad gas mileage, but I think that is do to my heavy foot. Also I checked all the things you guys were talking to about and everything looked fine. So I took it out for a lil "speed test" and I think the problem might have been me. I made sure to turn down the radio and listen to everything and I watched my rpms. I put the pedal to the medal and got it up to 105 at about 3k rpm (is that right?) then had to slow down but it was still going up. So there could be a problem or it could be me or it could just be a slow acceleration after 90mph. Does any of that sound wrong? And thanks for everyones help!

its an automatic?
if its a manual, just stay in 4th all the way to the limiter (115mph), dont even use 5th gear when you want to accelerate, its a total dog.
