Default 1996 V6 Mustang, want to know the top speed.

i have a 96 v6 mustang and i want to know the top speed....also when am going about 110 or 114 the rpms drop like if the engine blew and the car feels weird is that because i have to press the od button

When you are at about 114, does your car slow down and then speed back up to 114 and thenback down? If that is the case then 114 is your speed limit. when I had my 2002 V6, it's top speed was 118

you have a rev limiter/governor what ever you wanna call it

but your cars computer basically wont let you drive over 114mph unless you remove it

My knowledgeable mechanic has told me there is a chip which limits you to 110 or so.... The police interceptor chip is not limited....Gives them a leg up if you're doing 112!!

I'm pretty sure that all v6s are governed at about 115. all gts at about 145. But putting a new comp in will get rid of that limit, and add some power too.
