Default V6 Stang Mufflers

ok, so i have almost reached a final decision. If i were to take my mufflers off completely and leave the cats, would it hurtmy car at all? I have the stock exhaust on the motor. No open headers. it is a 96 3.8 liter

I would not recommend no mufflers on our cars, they just don't sound very good without some type of muffler. As far as it not hurting your car at all, i don't think it would if you removed it but I think you should look into some mufflers. If you want loud, my Pypes dual violators are pretty loud, or any muffler that is a glass pack would be loud, such as ones by Cherry Bomb or Loud Mouth (dunno what kind of muffler they are but i have heard they are loud as heck). Listen to some exhaust clips online to find a muffler that suits your ears, i think you would be better with one than without.

The Flowmaster 40s sound good. I dont know how they sound with the cats on i dont have cats but im sure they would sound good. but i would'nt go with no muffler i'v tried it just to see what it would sound like it's loud but doesnt sound good at all, And that loud you would prouble get a ticket.

Remember that mufflers don't only "muffle" some of the sound, but they help create tone as well. I think we can all relate to hearing a LOUD vehicle that was simply LOUD, but didn't sound all that good. The tone is important and what makes the car/truck sound good IMO.
