thinking of swaping ma 232 to a 302 carbd motor...i wanted to know if this could be a good idea...i can get the motor with the trans for almost free

If you get the motor for free and do the work yourself then it could be ok. Otherwise it isn't a good swap. The 4.6L is a better swap for the 96. The K-member in the 96 is for a 4.6L. It will not work with a 5.0. So you would have to find a K-member from a 94-95 to use. What year is the 5.0 from? I wouldn't do it but I have never been a big fan of the 5.0 either.
