Honestly....Im lost when people bash our rides. I dont get it. Sometimes I hear it from our own Kind..like Gt's and cobras....All in all were all MUSTANGS!!! The way I see it is when I beat a Honda thats one down for the team....But we all know what we think of hondas. So what Im trying to get to is WHY ? is there a real reason people hate the v6 mustang. I have both and I gotta say I love driving my Sixer all around. It also is a project to work on and make her faster then what she came stock. I also know some of you see and watch your ride GROW!!! and you get attached to her knowing everything you do to her is another step to enjoy. Id rather drive a mustang V6 then any Import anyday....Just my opinion. What do you all really think of this ?

Exactly what I was thinking. Most GT owners are pretty cool. It's when you get to the younger Roush and Cobra owners that only have that car cause daddy bought it for 'em that you meet some dick heads. I tried asking 'em a question about his car in the parking lot and he just pretended I wasn't there.
would i love a GT sure thing.
would i love a shelby, i recon, but paying an extra 30 grand for 20 more MPH? i dunno..
but i got my V6 with 32,XXX miles on it for 13,500.
ever seen an 05 GT with only 30,someodd miles for 13,500? no damage runs great?
my point in deed.

Ya know thats the people i dislike the most. The ones who have their daddy buy them a shelby or cobra and think their **** dont stink lol. See i think that people that have to work for their car and put lots of hours of sweating away at work just to buy that bad ass chip or exhaust system actually appreciate their car and dont just think "well if i wreck this one i will just have daddy buy me a new one" or have some related attitude, i dont care what they say about my V6 ya know why? Because it IS a V6, but it is my V6 and im proud of it.
Just my $.02

You guys should try owning a II. It doesn`t matter if it`s a 4,6 or 8 we get bashed no matter what. Somebody is always going to have a negative comment about something and you need to let it go in one ear and out the other.
I am part of a club here in Va. And one of the few who owns a V6 and they respect that and with what I have done to her. So far they are inpressed and did not know you can do that to a v6 and all really want to see what I am going to do to it. The love having something different in the club.

First I would like to say that the S197 comes with a pretty bad little V6, I mean 210hp with a 4.0L, even if it's a six, it aint no punk Plus, not everybody needs 300hp or what not, they enjoy driving an American Muscle car. Others may have bought there Mustang at a time when they didn't have as much money and are making the most of it by modding it. Personally, I bought my sixer about three days after I graduated from college. However, my Jennavicia (my 2008 V6) is mine and i'll add to her when I can. Screw what others say, they talk trash until the day they finally get behind the wheel of a Mustang and fall in love
yah...i bouht my v6 in my last year of high school....she is my best purchase yet...my friend wants to race me in his honda fit...he keeps talkin like my 6 is noithin cause it aint a gt or cobra and his car is so fast cause hes got v-tech..that just bugs me...

it's because our cars are slower than most cars on the road when they're stock. We essentially have a Mini-van's motor in our cars so of course our cars will get made fun of.
Hell my first gen RX-7 which makes 135hp and 100tq whipped the crap out of my mustang when it was stock.
Needless to say though the v6 community has gotten a huge backing in the recent years, as to why you're seeing more and more aftermarket parts and more and more cars that are breaking into the 10's on 1/4 mile. Respect is earned and thus far we don't have much reason to be respected. The general population of 3.8l v6 mustangs are slow. And even more so for the 4.0L v6 in the '05-'09's. Problem is for the 4.0's that's a short lived motor for the mustang, the 3.5L eco-boost motor will be used in 2010 putting the 4.0 to rest and possibly the aftermarket support as well.

by looking at your sig, i dont think you have too much to worry about
but i hear ya...6's are thought of as little unintimidating ponies.hell, im a mechanic so everyone i work with knows what makes fast cars fast, they see my 6 and go all to giggles.i've learned to turn a deaf ear to that kind of talk. all the more reason to continue to tune and tweak so that you can beat them and say "what now?". no matter what you drive, tho, someone somewhere will be able to make fun of it; if you drive a shelby GTH, someones gonna say "oh its still a ford". if you drive a lambo, someones gonna say "cheating rich boy"
if you drive a ZR1, we say "Chevy Like a Rock...cuz they never move....."
I hear ya...and I know about my Sig...I modded mine up from all talk people always in my ear...But I did it for the Joy and the love of the mustang...Bro and I also own an 03 Cobra together....But Im standing up for the SIXERS I have abused and beat on mine A LOT....Never blew a motor yet....Never had a Problem. NO MATTER WHAT..Im gonna stand up for them

You're right, most of our cars are slow. It absolutely kills me when I see stock V6's run 18's at the track. They are out there for the pure enjoyment of it because they're not going to win any prizes with those times. I go over to them when staging and ask for permission to mod it.
We stand up for V6's all the time, but we have the nuts to back it up, most don't. Modding costs big $$$$ to get over the time hurdles at the track. If you don't know what I mean, you haven't reached your first one yet. When you get past the first few, it gets more and more expensive to break the next one. Start at the 15's and go down from there. Some can leap a couple hurdles with a SC, but you just paid for that leap anyway.......
Haven't been around for a few days guys, sorry, I'll get to your pm's today......

I hear you haha. My first motor build set me back about $3k. Now I'm getting another motor built by Mik at RPM-Mustangs and that's going to be a $10k motor build and will put me in the low 10's. BUT, I'm going to need a rear end that can sustain about 500whp, granted my 7.5 is built I just don't think it'll be able to handle that much power. As for the transmission, that's another $3k I'm spending, I'm installing a TKO-600 transmission by the end of the month. So I definitely hear you on the $$$ to make our cars fast as to why I made my statement about our car's being slow stock.
I've got about $5k wrapped into performance parts currently and I probably don't run any better than a 15 second 1/4. Granted my car is built for auto-x, that's still quite embarrassing. The new motor build will definitely turn things around, I'll be happy to be anywhere in the 10's with it.
Yeah Money is a Problem sometimes....I worked on mine bit by bit.....But also know enough to get me by.
Stanger98 Good luck on the rebuild Hope all goes well.

I love my V6 and don't want to sell her(my gf wants to though) We have a lot of history together. It may not be fast for what it is right now but I always enjoy driving it
