Default wrecked my stang :( :( :(

yup, the best and favorite thing thats ever entered my life, is now looking pretty sad. it had rained all day saturday, and then that evening about 4 or 4:30 me and my friend was going to the movies. Not even to the highway yet, only a few miles from my house, there is a pretty bad curve. people have actually died in wrecks there.. anyway, i was going a little too fast, and the back end started sliding. next thing, the whole car is sliding and spinning and i have no control! thats a freaky feeling right there, just holding on and wondering what the crap is about to happen. so we went off the road and there was a fence and alot of hedge bushes and small trees we hit. when we got stopped we was facing the way we was coming from, and mud and grass was everywhere, couldnt even see out the windshield. but the main part, we wasnt hurt any at all. but when i stepped out and saw my pride and joy all screwed up, my heart fell to my feet. i've never felt so awful! it still ran though, so we came on back home in it carefully, although it didnt drive smooth at all. So now, i'm waiting for the insurance person to come this afternoon and tell me if its totaled or if they'll repair it. i sure hope they're gonna fix it.. i dont want to loose my car and hafta get another one. so im nervously waiting to find out what's gonna happen. anyway, just wanted to share this experience with you all.. my very first wreck too. you can go here to see some pictures.. cybershane1291 - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Sorry about the stang man. Had something like that happen to me back in high school. I was hauling it around a curve I knew real well, drove it lots of times back and to from my house to my buddys, and caught a pile of loose sand that had never been there before. Long story short, car spun out around and ended up in a ditch.

oh man...im sorry to see that. but, by looking at your pictures, i think it looks fixable; new LH/RH fenders, front bumper cover, and possibly a hood and you should be back together again...i hope theres no damage to the undercarriage. the rough ride you were experiencing; if your lucky hopefully it will just be a bent rim or something. good luck to you, keep us posted

By not running smooth do you mean the engine or the suspension? It looks like you hit something pretty hard. lol Was the engine running rough or was it the tires or the suspension? Was your radiator pushed in much or anything like that? I would bet that your front suspension is pretty busted up but hopefully your frame isn't bent. If it isn't bent then the damage isn't too bad. Did your undercarriage get hit by a lot of stuff?

**** happens though. At least you or your friend weren't hurt, that is the good thing. Cars can be replaced, people can't. With that being said did you have anything done to the car?

I cringed at the photos. Chances are they will fix the mustang unless theres significant damage to the frame and suspension, in which case theres a possibility they may just total it and give you the money. If you wanted to you could probably get quotes on fixing it and buy the car back from them if they total it

oh man, im really sorry to hear about the stang, i crunched up my front bumper and front fender, luckily no damage was done to the engine or suspension, and they fixed it up, by the looks of it they will probably be able to fix your baby up too.

they totaled my stang! we're waiting on them to call now and say how much they're gonna give me for it, and how much it would cost to buy it back. i think the frame is bent some.. Im having a hard time trying to decide if i wanna buy it back and have it fixed, or just go find me a nice GT.. I'll know more when they call and give me prices. If it would be cheaper to fix mine, i'll do that probably. but if it'd be cheaper to just get another one, then i guess i'll do that. a GT would be pretty sweet.. ive just became attached to my little v6 and hate to see it go

The stang does look pretty beat up in the front. I know you love your stang but it is only worth keeping if you are probably never going to sell it. Most people stay away from salvaged cars. Even if the title was clear and it was never in an accident, the car is still depreciating fast. My mustang depreciated faster than I could even pay it off. If you get enough money out of it I would definitely put that towards another stang maybe even a GT.

Most people think that going from the 99+V6 to the 99+V8 is a huge increase in power. I don't really think that the 99+V8 is that impressive. lol They are quick but not fast and they handle the same as the V6's with worse weight distribution. It is up to you. Stock the 2v heads are not nice heads at all and it takes F/I or a lot of money for N/A to make the cars powerful.

thanks for the info.. i've decided to get another v6. i'm perfectly satisfied with its power.. i'd just get in more trouble with a v8 anyway, lol, and also the insurance would be higher for a v8 i think. which is already going up some because of the wreck. I've found 2 stangs like mine that i'm checking into! one is a 2001, the other is 02. Mine was 01. they are both silver though, so thats nice. They're both manual shift too.. mine was automatic. i can drive manual though, so thats good. i've just never driven a manual mustang before, or any manual car for that matter. only trucks.. so i'm not sure what it'll be like, but i hope i like it if i go test drive it. i think it'll be fun to drive
