Just picked up a 86 Convertable, it is a 3.8 V6 auto.
Since I'll be keeping this one I would like to build up the engine, but I'm not sure what to do to it.
I dont know much about the 3.8's, so I don't know what can be done to them.
Do the superchargers from the thunderbirds fit?
What could I do?

i would say put a high performance clutch but its an automatic...im more of the 5speed type i hate automatics sorry but check the link and find what u need and idk if that superchrger would fit but if u have 1 try it
I already have the 5L crossmember, springs, diff, and everything (all not put in). But for some reason I want to keep the 6, it will mainly be a cruising vehicle, so I don't think a 8 would be the best things for me. I enjoyed my last mustang (same engine, and tranny), it had good pep, and could break some nice doughnuts with the all-seasons on. I would just like to get some more power to up the fun level.

Not trying to ruin your fun or anything, keep the V6 if thats what you want, but that year V6, versus a EFI mass-air 5.0L is hands down the 5.0, more power, cheaper to build, runs smoother (as long as it has a stock or close to stock cam in it), and more than likely be more reliable and get better gas mileage.
If you do keep the V6 though, I would see about converting it to a single-port or even a split port style EFI set-up from the 94 and newer stangs. The single port cars make anywhere between 140-150 HP stock, not as much as the split port cars which are 190-193 HP stock, but some guys have tricks to get the single port cars running very strong from what I've heard.
I know shiner probably has more insight on this as well if he's listening?

Funny that you mentioned me, Jesse. I know nothing about his year V6. That's why I didn't reply.
Now if he wanted to go with a newer swap, that's a different story......
