I just paid to replace my clutch and on the instructions it says that you can't race or hit the accelerator hard until 500 miles is this true?
or they just say this so the warranty can go away.
and i don't needed to replace the clutch just the throw out bearing. and now the clutch is a lot softer and its very easy to shift.

i bought my car off the showroom floor. when i took ownership i drove her like i stole her. the marks are still in the dealership parkinglot.. lol.. i still drive her that way well sometimes. i think the 500 miles is to break it in softly.. so its up too you..

Did you replace the clutch disc/pressure plate? If you did, then yeah, it does need to break in, just drive it normal, 500 miles goes by pretty quick if you drive the car frequently.

yeah i replaced everything with a oem Seco clutch for $120 on ebay

Drive it hard, there is no break in period for a clutch.

Its up to you, everyone has what they beleive in, its one of those things that comes down to preference, I prefer to break it in, but in the end, its up to you!

All clutch mfrs. have a break in period, but it is up to you. You can get on it, but I wouldn't suggest banging gears or dropping the clutch for a little while. If you want it to last, take it on some long trips.......

We replaced mine, then took it down to the V6 Challenge a couple years ago. Tom Jr and I drove from northern Vt to south Georgia. I believe the trip was somewhere around 1,300+ miles. Yeah, we broke it in, it was a painfully long drive........
