Default 1999 Mustang V6 Exhaust question??

you guys have helped me in the past and i know you can help me with this question.. i brought a used Y pipe Borla exhaust system including 2 inch piping (stock).
i want to turn it into an H pipe for better flow and sound and i know this guy with the same year except the V8 model and hes selling his Cats and H pipe for cheap..

so i figured i would install his cats ( would it have better flow than the v6?) since its connected to the H pipe it would be easier .
would it just bolt up? or is it different piping size.

p.s.
brought Borla system for $100 used for only 3 months.
the cats are $75 and have only 65 000 km.
also thinking of headers but probably wont waste my money.

mike.

It will not bolt up,but you can use the cats and h-pipe if you get some manifold pipes made to hook them up.

i got another question.
instead of welding in an H pipe after cutting out the Y-pipe..
could i just run straight pipes after the cats running to the muffler then pipes out the back?
wut would the outcome be, louder in a good way?

A crossover makes the exhaust sound much better, so I would run an H or X pipe set-up. Without it, it will backfire and pop out the exhaust.

i just got custom true dual exhaust with no crossover and with flowmaster 40's and 3" tips and it doesn't pop or backfire. It sounds awesome, almost like a v8.

Get mil eliminators or a xcal to solve your CEL problem.

Only problem with borla is its going to sound very "import' like... and you don't need a crossover we're even firing motors.
