Hi everyone! This is my first time being on here, I thought it would be helpful to chat with other Mustang Enthusiasts, so.....
Unfortunately, I recently wrapped my 2001 Mustang around a telephone pole. Did quite a number on the pole, and my car. I crushed just about everything from the front bumper to the engine. I have searched high and low for a front clip to replace mine. But I cannot find a full front clip. I need everything except the sub-frame. ALL fluids containers, intact and usable, EVERYTHING. I am tired of my "baby" sitting behind my house doing it's best imatation of a flower garden! Plus I would LOVE to have it running by the summer. Graduating this year and would really like to hit the beach in style.
So if anyone has any suggestions...favorite salvage yards, websites, etc. please let me know.
Heather
Well there was a police report, but no help from insurance. I've been trying to save all the money possible so i can get a place once i graduate. Therefore, i only had liability. dumb i know, but i really didnt expect for a pole to leap infront of me!ha. I was actually totally sober and under no type of influence. just one of those "**** happens" stories. I had no idea what had happened, woke up laughing with my best friend cussing me out and shaking my airbag in my face, hopped out and realized my car was totalled, and was later told the phone pole was on the ground in 3 pieces. i was still in shock but it hit me (along with the aches) the next day. but i couldnt bare to part with it. motors still good, kinda. blew the heads, of course. and yes very hard to see it just sit there, i had to put it behind our shop so i couldnt see it everyday. very depressing. good thing is liability DID cover the cost of that dang pole and our doctors bills.
i've had alot of those sugestions. like...run it off a dam, burn it etc... not that i would result to that, i'm just hoping it will cost under 3k to fix. sure wish i would have had the extra coverage on it now!
Now that im fixing it, i was looking into adding all the extras i've wanted. since it will be totally dismantled anyway might as well add some goodies. any ideas as to where i should start? keep in mind im not looking to spend outrageous amounts of money.ha

sorry to hear that!
i assume you'll need just about everything on the front of the car, so maybe a chin spoiler, a set of smoked headlamps, smoked foglamps, and a mach1 grille would like great imho , especially if they need to be replaced anyway and you have everything apart.
a new radiator shouldnt cost more than $150 or so, and the only fuild container you should need would be the coolant reservoir, right?
also you'll need D/S and P/S airbags, along with the front impact sensors or you'll have the airbag light on.
yes i do need just about everything. i think my headlights survived just because they shot off at impact, but i still want some new ones. ill look into those.i have one person telling me i can fix it for relatively cheap, and another saying its gonna cost close to 7k to fix. how low would yall say i can keep this project? just an estimate. how much will a new dash be? someone told me they were like almost 3k. which is ridiculous and i hope they were over exagerating. i called a "mustang graveyard" today but, i didn't know exactly what ALL i needed and the guy kinda acted like he couldnt help.
and i was gonna just buy it piece by piece but for some reason thats not working out for me. so im just gonna try and get a whole car that is severely wrecked on the side or rear end. hopefulyy that will be easier. will my bf be able to do what all needs to be done at my house? hes worked on cars his whole life and knows what to do, i just dont know if it can be done at home.
