So I ran my 01 at the track again, and I was a little disappointed....
When I ran it last, it was stock. Ran it on the stock 16 inch wheels not aired down at all. It was day time, low 80's temp. It ran 15.6@88 mph, and in the 15.70's and 15.80's the rest of the day.
Now it has dual exhaust with 2 cats, BBK cold-air, BBK headers, and a Mcleod clutch. So I figured it might be slighlty faster....BUT, I also lowered the car and now I am running heavy 18x9 Saleens, so it actually went slower! lol
I was pretty much doing 16.0 and 16.1 all night, at around 87 mph. I could only launch it by slipping the clutch around 2500-3000 rpm's, any lower it would bog real bad, and any higher and it would spin very bad. My shifts were awesome though, very quick but the car just has no power...
I also noticed that the car has very bad wheelhop, especially going into 2nd, it jars the whole damn car pretty bad.
I did have fun with a 350Z all night though, pretty sad when a near stock V6 Mustang with 120K on the clock kills you 3/4 way down the track, lol....
Here is a video of it holding off the 350Z for a while...
Are you serious about that?? How much time did he made? The 350z is my second favorite car... How much did you paid for the run? and can you explain me about all that you can run 3 times or what etc...
It definitely is the Saleens. They are such heavy rims. I bet if you had the stock 16's back on the car your times would have improved, lowering or not. It is not like you have a lot of suspension work done to make the car launch horribly, I think it is just those heavy rims that slowed you down so much.
Nice job on the 350z. lol I do not believe that those owners can drive... lol jk. Their is a guy with a full bolt-on 350 who can not take stock RSX-s' in my town. He gets the jump and then they pass him around 70mph....
Yes sir, its the cheap route for now, but I plan on doing 4 wheel disc using 99-04 brakes (non-Cobra), just want to build the motor first....
Thanks guys, yeah to be fair, 350Z's suck on the drag strip, he was doing mid 15's all night. Even 400 HP ones only do high 13's.
The track I run at is pretty awesome, 10 miles from my house, $20 to run, $10 to spectate, they run pretty much every Friday and Saturday, sometimes on Wensday
nights. Its always how ever many runs you can get in. I ran like 6-7 times but I took 2 breaks and left early.

Yeah i know what you mean by heavy wheels. I weighed my stock rims with snow tires and they came in at 45 lbs a piece. I weighed my 17x9 mach 1's and they were 55lbs. The scale isnt the most accurate thing but it showed me how much of a difference in weight there was. I'd love to try my stock rims at the track, but I'm afraid of not getting traction with the snows. Maybe after i put in my gears and t-lock ill try out the stockers.

Compared to mines those are light when I weighed mines they hit 75 lbs that's why as soon I get my GT I will look for some aluminum not those ones that almost everybody want on their stang like bullit etc... I will try to find ones lighter than the stock ones...
