Default how should i get rid of my Y-pipe

Okay so i have the pypes cat back dual exhaust on my car now.. but it just bolts right onto they y-pipe that was already there.. this probably does very little in terms of reducing the restriction that the single exhaust would have had in the first place. so i am looking for some advice whats the best way to get rid of those y-pipes without spending very much money so my car has actual dual exhaust flow instead of some imitation of it?

V6 Dual Exhaust adapter kit at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!
This site sells a kit that lets you have true duals with any GT catback exhaust kits. I was gonna do that but I didn't have the money to go through with all of it so I went with the summit cat back exhaust which isn't that bad for now(a little quiet for me) but I will probably get some flowmaster mufflers and put them on.

how much modification would that adapter require to put it on?

silverbullet07 got his pypes put on today, independent dual violaters, and they sound amazeing, i like mine more because flomasters are deeper, but his dont crack like mine do, and they sound awsome on a drive by.

its preferance.

hang on i think u misunderstand i already have this on my car its been there for a year already
Pypes Street Pro Exhaust Systems: PYE-SFM54 - summitracing.com so i dont need pipes all over the place just in front of those mufflers to connect to the cats which i could probably just do with 2 short pipes straight between them im guessing

u should weld them, but clamps will work. use a disk grinder to cut a gap in one end so it will clamp. u need a bigger ID tube than the OD tubes. or if u weld them u can go straight acrost.

u may need to bend pipes , u got a set of torches? they will bend it. slightly.

my dad's friend mechanic put it in and i was there when he did it.. from what i remember.. the cat tubes are about the same distance apart as the mufflers so im fairly sure it would fit without any bending but i wouldnt try and force it ill probably enlist the help of my dads friend anyway he has torches if i needed to bend the pipes..
