What is the year of the car? Which plastic piece? Was it ever hit? Is it hitting the weatherstripping and if so it is suppose to contact it a little bit to seal. If it is hitting the roof it might need to be re aligned.

I have a 1999 and my door doesn't come in contact with that piece just contacts the weather stripping so it seals. My advice is to see if the panels line up if not you are gonna have to re align your door. Just get a buddy to help and loosen the door hinges from the body so you can move the door around to get it right. Its not to hard. When did this start happening? Has it always been this way since you bought it?

I've been thinking and have you done anything to the window? Cause when you drill out those rivets that hold the window to the window regulator sometimes it won't be the same as before. Just tryin to figure this out.
