Default Price for a 1994 V6 Mustang?

Hello Everyone,

I'm looking at getting my first Mustang. I found one I like on craigslist for $2,300. Its a 1994 V6 Automatic with 189,000 miles on it. Do you think the price is too high? There is nothing wrong with the body and only a small tear on the inside of the car which can be fixed easily. Please let me know what you guys think.

Thanks,
Alex

hey, im glad to see you want a mustang! there great cars... there prices depend on where you live at...but i just bought a 1994 mustang too...except mine was the gt version...i picked it up for $2000 w/ 110,000 miles, but that was when gas prices were $4+ a gallon.

if i was you i would keep looking around and try to find one with lower miles...because that one will need a engine and transmission rebuild soon, which will be expensive

also, try to find a mustang gt, with the v8, even if its a fox-body, you will enjoy the car much more, no offense to v6 owners, but v6s are slow in there stock form!

$2300 is way too much for that car.

Pre 99 V6 Mustangs may be slow but 99+ will easily hang with a stock 5.0, especially the 5-spds.

Definitely look around for a better deal. You can get a nice Fox 5.0 for that kind of money that will be much quicker than a single-port V6.

I agree If you want power for little money a 5.0, 94-98Gt will be a good deal plus they have a great sound and will respond better to mods...

Also never buy a high mileage car specially a 4cyl or 6cyl...

I'm scared of v6's in my 95 5.0. . . Infact, my ex gf's bone stock accord was neck and neck when we did a little race. . . I have quite a few bolt-ons mind you.

I agree. The 5.0 is very over-rated and while it can be built up to be quite strong, it takes a tremendous amount of money. If I had the choice I'd take a 4.6L over the 5.0L ANY day of the week as they respond to mods far better than the 5.0L does. I'd dare say the 3.8L V6 split port will respond nearly exactly the same to the same mods as a 5.0L.

One thing I think we can all agree on is to try and avoid the pre 1999 V6 motor if at all possible.

However, you can build a very potent 5.0 much cheaper than a 4.6

I agree that the 5.0 is over-rated but disagree with everything else... How does it take a tremendous amount of money to make them quick? $1000 and they gain 60-80hp reliably and easily with the GT40 set up and a F or E cam. $1000 on a 4.6L or 3.8L and you may have gained 15-20hp unless you are going Nitrous and that is not all the time power like it is with the 5.0L. A 2v 4.6L responds better than a 5.0 does?! lmao The 2v is a joke in terms of response, the only thing they respond to is major porting or charging. If you were talking about the 4v however then I completely agree with you. The split-port does not respond evenly with a 5.0 with bolt-ons, the 5.0 responds slightly better...

I just picked up a '94 convertible V6 Auto. with 82K miles with ALL the repair history since new, bought it from a friends mother (original owner). I have spent more than a week scrubbing, clay bar, waxing and still have the interior to do....

No dents, just some scratches and a few cracks in the paint on the hood. the top is 2 years old..
