Need headlamp, front bumper, front quarter panel, part of my hood is also been ripped (fibre glass hood it's style is raised in the middle it's a 6 inch rip into it though and the edge of the hood will need a slight lip filled on it too where it has broken away) so i'm hoping they can fix the damaged area of the hood instead of replacing it ($600)
the space between the battery and wing wall has been reduced cause the quarter has been pushed in but my wheel is fine it didn't get hit just the panel. whoomph. and the bumper. and my hood. and my ego.
bumper is no big deal. sideskirts are ok. anyway does anyone know what to expect.. i'm currently expecting $3000ish: $1400 for painting 3 panels, $600 for the panels themselves, $1000 labor for the repair work.
does that seem about right? i basically spun out in the rain and hit a pole. also is quarter panel damage repair fairly common in a crash? otherside of car is fine and car isn't pulling at all.
ouch! sorry to hear it at least your ok the stang can be fixed even know it sucks but it happens as far of what it will cost Im sure your in the ballpark give or take probably give good luck

Bummer, man. I've had a little incident with a tree when I hit ice, but I was lucky to have been going to slow, so I only had to replace the hood and bumper. Check out some sites like craigslist.org, you may just be able to find somebody selling parts of their Mustang. That's where I got my hood and bumper for pretty cheap.

I would get it put on a frame machine and measured just to make sure the frame/body isn't bent which will cause you a world of problems later on down the road if not fixed now.
its hit the front and my car isn't pulling so fingers crossed the body is ok. I drove it home after the incident I was only a few blocks away from home.
Gah. My fault really I should have been driving much more carefully. It was pissing it down with rain.
I think some garages are going to charge me 6k upwards I know what they're like, just need to find that one small independant body shop who can get the work done in a week and charge me a hell of a lot less than a larger shop!
my dad owns his own shop and i've seen alot of things. he's been at it for 20 years or more now and has done both my truck and my stang. and the one thing i have to say is remember, "you get what you pay for" some times its better to spend a little extra cash to have peace of mind. just do some research on the shop before you go ahead and put it in cause it might not be the best idea. anyways.. just me two cents..

my two cents** and check the scrap yards and ebay, sometimes you'll get your parts for cheaper than the shop will give it to you for.

one guy said $400 for the labour. and that he wants to pull out the bent framework behind the quarter panel (front fender) with a TREE
And then wack it a bit with a hammer. He's confident! but I don't think I want to go with that guy. I'll pay for more I've found a guy who can align it up properly and wants to weld new framework in rather than mess about beating the current framework, I like the sound of that he is a certified welder. They paint and do all the rest. They don't want to repair my fibreglass hood though they said I'd need a new one which sucks.
Yeah, fiberglass will continue to crack, that's the issue. I had the same problem with my hood. It didn't look that bad, but it was spreading underneath. I lucked out and bought a brand new, unpainted oem hood for $100.

Reminds me when I hit a patch of black ice on the highway, right next to someone else who had already dont the same and went off the right side and went down a gulley, and did a 180 across the left side of the grass median to face the direction of traffic on that side of the median lol. Then right after I stopped a semi went balzing by me. The pucker factor was high on that day.
Oh yeah, the best part? Not a scratch, just a lot of grass/snow/dirt. Lets just say, when it starts to snow when im driving, I slow down now. Oh yeah I was foolishly doing about 50mph that day thinking there was no black ice.

Yeah well to be honest (i'm not proud of myself) I kicked my tail out in the rain, and got dragged into a post or a fence or something (was dark and raining hard). having driven about in the snow (canadian winter) I thought it would pull back in real nice. after the crash I looked at loads of other mustang crashes online, there are plenty of people showing off doing the same thing, kicking the tail out by sharply cocking/turning your steering wheel a few inches and then doing the same back in, the other crash victims also got DRAGGED away as they can't pull their tail back in when they counter turn. Sometimes you can when you have a light load and are not going too fast. I gave myself two lanes and did this far far away from the post I hit, but she sailed away I went into the turn so much that I was facing the other way and then she finally turned while I was facing the wrong way and WHOOMPH. All happened in about 2-3 seconds not much time to think.
I think my race driver days are over, i'm almost 30 now so time to stop being a muppet I guess. Lesson learned the hard way! I play a racing game online and all I do is race and constantly slide cars around corners I don't think playing that game helped.
I've managed to get all the repair work lined up for $3500 canadian, which is good. Larger garages were quoting me $8000+. This guys been in business for about 25 years and is repairing the fibreglass. there are some cracks underneath the hood, but I don't really care as long as they don't come through the top which I don't think they will. After he's done the work I'm going to get a simple alignment I don't think i've damaged my frame its just the framework behind the fender. I think I'll be ok it could have been a lot worse. I was doing about 40kmh in very heavy rain.
Please refrain from calling me a buffoon! it was a large road with nobody about, two lanes on the left two on the right, totally clear, I cranked her out to the right from the inside of the two lanes had so much room and totally failed. Don't try kicking your tail out it can be pretty deadly. Says silly old me. I'm going to drive a lot more sensibly at least I know some of my limits and boundaries now, I am going to buy myself an old man driving hat to help cool me down
You ar enot a fool if you learned your lesson. We all have done/will do stupid stuff behind the wheel, but it does take a man (or woman) to own up to their own shortcomings. 99.99% of the world (including me) can't drive in the real world as well as we do in video games. I always laugh my ass off when you see some tool claim he learned to drift playing Need For Speed and then you never hear back from them because they wrecked.
Glad you can get her fixed and back on the road atleast!
True man. I can't wait - a weeks time. I'm tired of all this walking!!
I think that without proper conditions, and proper learning, well trying to drift and all that on a road is going to take practice, it's not safe, and learning will almost definitely result in crashing which isn't fun unless you're absolutely loaded and don't care.
