Touched bulbs on accident? I put some silverstars in 3 nights ago and I think I touched the bulbs during installations, but I have heard if you touch them that they will dim and go out. Is this just a false rumor or true? Because I have been drving around with them for a few nights and nothing really happened.

Oil in your skin will shorten the bulbs life.

No, oil from your fingers can cause a "hot spot" on the bulb which can shorten the life. You can wipe them off with alcohol. It's true with any halogen bulb.
