3200 lbs is not that bad considering other firebirds and camaros.
Why not get a 351 from a explorer? Don't screw the stang up with some jap motor dude...
351 does sound fair. for the jap motor thing. isn't a supra twin turbo inline 6 a common swap in mustangs??
yea i guess 295 is good it sets me at around 10.5lbs per horse but my past 3 cars have been like that.
and honestly i bought the stang like that for 3300. the guy said he put alot in it and gave me the dyno records of it. it was a track car, the guy just didnt like the one wheel burn out thing. i guess he sold it for so cheap cuz he didnt know about welding together the diff for posy traction lol.
Well swapping Supra motors into Mustangs is not common. Unless you are refering to the SR20 that those fags on F&F did to that 66. Either way its not common, and not right at all.
Power to weight ratios of cars is not a very good way to guage its performance. It may give you an idea what it could do, but in the real world and actual racing, its not that accurate. Integra Type R's have great power to weight and HP/Liter, but they still only do high 14's in the 1/4.
So this "track car" has a bunch of stuff done to the motor, but the guy wasn't smart enough to put a $200 traction-lok in the rear end? What exactly is on this motor?
Good luck with welding the diff, link'n-lockers are not the best way to get a posi out of a rear end. Don't be surprised when heat treated metal welding breaks.

Swapping in a different engine that isnt a v6 or mustang v8 is going to be hard. Even putting in a v8 mustang engine requires a lot of time and funds. So much fabrication must be done in order to get the other engine to fit, let alone all the electrical stuff and the rest of the drive train. And putting in a different v6 that only pushes 325/335 with twin turbos when you already are at 255/295? If you boosted yours it would kill those numbers. Did the guy tell you what he put in it? I don't see it being a lot since he kept the rear end stock. How can you even hook with nearly 300ftlbs on one tire? Track car...eh idk. Just keep the engine you have now and mod it. Mustang v6's can be beasts if you get it right.

wow i think i just got bombed by the mustang forum geek squad.
look sorry i had no idea what was in the car. i still dont know everything that is in it. i used drag times calculator for what my hp was. and yea sorry about the 12 seconds thing. not trying to be an idiot its just what my friend said before i found that drag time calc. 255rwhp gives me around 272 at the flywheel. my real time is 13.3 secs.
now that we have that settled. thanks about the common swap thing. a few guys said it was common but now i think i'm just going to get a turbo and cooler and run around 11 psi. i did the my math and that should give me about 445rwhp. (272hp+((272/15.4at.px11psi=194hp))=466hp)<--thats for those smart ones who say i dont know what i'm doing =D
now about the diff. locking the differential together for posy is a stupid idea. just found that out lol. but it states that with "one wheel drive" burnouts there is a safety feature that locks up the other wheel for better traction. is there anyway to disable this feature? i dont even know what to look for... but if anyone knows that would be awesome.
as for the guy selling me the car for $3300 the story is his uncle owned the car, then he turned 16 and got it for free, cuz his uncle got something better. since its a "rebuilt title" it was cheap and the kid didnt know what he had so i basically stole it from him lol.
i guess thats what happens when you have rich kids who like a mercedes benz better than a beast.

Your not running boost or nitrous? Then you're not running 13.3's int he quarter mile. Also your equation is what we call ricer-math. Not sure what your saying you want a posi? Buy a detroit true trac.

Not to bash your bubble, but all your math calculations mean nothing in the real world. Its all theoretical, if this then this then this type thinking, if all the planets align, then this should happen. When you actually build the engine or combo, I can almost gurantee they will be far less then what you thought they would be.
Not to mention building the motor to survive that kind of abuse and the tune that needs to be dialed in for it to all work together. This stuff ain't just throw it together and run.
An open diff is an open diff. cheaper and not a neccessity on a stock V6 Mustang that most high school girls drive (pipe down everyone I've owned 2 myself )
Mustang Geek Squad eh? Not to fuel your rant, but a lot of us (including me) are actually racing on the drag strip and building these engine combos, while your spouting off about calculations....
