Hard to pull E-Brake Is this something normal? Do all of you have to put muscle into pulling the E-Brake or is it just me?

yeah they're pretty stiff, probably because they're straight with no kind of angle to them at all.
dont pull the handbrake too hard, the mount that holds the assembly down to the body breaks pretty easily, and then its a big PITA from there.

Mine moves quite easily. It helps to use it every time you park.

In my opinion I like the E-brake on the 99-00 models better because they seem to be easier to pull and they dont have a boot on them.
Just my .02

Mine is easy to move up, kinda hard to move down. Also seems like alot of wear and tear on it since when I pull it up driving it doesn't do anything to stop my car lol.

I usually use it everytime I park. I guess I'll just live with it. I'll probably try some oil though.

if its excessively stiff, your rear caliper(s) may be binding up

Mine is easy to apply but a pain to release. Even those I've tried in the showroom were stiff.

Mine is stiff to pull up but, easy to release. Nothing too hard.
I used it every time I park (5-speed here)

Yeah I have a 5-speed also. It's not stiff, its just that I've driven newer cars and they are all 10x easier to pull so I was wondering what's so different with ours?

mine is kinda stiff...but thats the way it is if you have good pads and stuff...but there should be an adjuster for the cable...then just adjust it to how you like it

It seems like the E-brakes in the 01-04s only go up to a certain extent, whereas the 99-00 go up very easy. The 01-04s have a boot on them and the 99-00s dont.
The E-brake in the 01-04s engage fully at a lower angle than those in the 99-00s.
