Any Suggestions? lincoln mark 8 to 2001 v6 swap

alright i am buying a Lincoln Mark VIII from a buddy of mine and its got the 4.6 DOHC motor in it and i want to take that and put it into my v6 2001 mustang.. i was wondering if this is even possible and how exactly would i be able to do this?...would i have to change alot of stuff? or would it just be a clean swap?

i suggest to just mod the Mark VIII...much less headache.

is your 01 auto or manual?
does the Mark VIII have a 4r70w?

well, if the Mark VIII is also a 4r70w, then you wont have to replace the transmission, driveshaft or rear end...the Mark VIII has IRS anyway.
the 96-98 cobras had that teksid block so it might actually be somewhat of a straightforward swap.
thats assuming the Mark VIII has a 4r70w, which im 99.9% sure it is...

you'll have to pull the pcm, the wiring harness, engine mounts, along with other things, from the Mark VIII.

It is going to be a hassle. There have been many threads about this swap in the 4.6L sections lately, take a look over there. I think their might actually be a guy doing the swap or helping with the swap so maybe he will chime in. It is not going to be an easy thing.

the transmission thats in your Mark VIII is the same transmission thats in your 01 V6, a 4r70w 4 speed auto. this swap isnt going to be easy, but you have a donor car, so thats definitely good.
