Default 04 V6 Mustang vs. 02 Buick Le Saber

I don't know if this is the right section for this but I want to ask if a Buick Le Saber stands a chance against my V6 Mustang in the quarter mile? I got a race coming up that I betted on and I want to know if this Buick has any chance at all at winning. Keep in mind that both cars are completely stock. Here's the facts:

Buick Le Saber
Power: 205 hp
Torque: 230 ft·lbf
Engine: 3.8L V6

Ford Mustang
Power: 193 hp
Torque: 225 ft·lbf
Engine: 3.9L V6

I guess by the numbers it seems like he might win but I want your guys' opinions on this from experience since I know some other factors may slow him down like how his car is older and not as well taken cared of and also it seems like he may have a heavier car so that may slow him down some? Any comments would be well appreciated.

im going to say that it will be a bloodbath in your favor.
especially if your mustang is a manual.

from what i can see, the Le Sabre is an underpowered, FWD, heavy 4-door sedan. you should have no problem.

Thanks! That makes me feel a little better. The reason I asked was because I've heard this thing has beaten Manual Mustangs before but I really think that's a bluff.

Also thank you to the mod that moved this thread... I honestly didn't know where it should of gone.

Yeah i bet it did beat manual stangs.... maybe the 4 cylinder fox bodies or a manual 94-98 with an unskilled driver. I don't think you have to worry about much. As long as the mustang gets a good launch, yer set.

You shouldn't have a problem with that. It seems pretty much even although I'd give the advantage to the mustang because the horse power difference isn't much and Buicks are usually heavy cars.

Well it's my cousin wanting to race me because before he had a 2002 Mustang GT and I had a crappy Ford Taurus so he would always leave me but now he's stuck with that crap Le Saber and I got my Mustang now so I want to finally leave him in the dust!

Typically le sabers go 25 under on the freeway. Though, that could just be due to the stereotypical age group who drives them.
