Default Mustang V6 3.8L steering wheel noise

I have a mustang V6 3.8L year 2001. I have a noise on the steering wheel when turning either way and when accelelarting too. What could it be? and I also Have a manual transmition and when is neutral it has a low tack tack noise when I shift into any speed it goes away and it does it when pressing the clutch it only stops when I put it in gear. Any comments on this??

ford's p/s pumps are known for being noisy.
have you checked the fluid level?

I have the same problem...but i am going to change the whole rack out and stuff so im not to worried about it...but i would change the fluid...and if thats not it...it could be your steering gear box....or possibly just something that needs to be lubricated...tell me a lil more about the noise maybe i can diagnose it more

Also you may want to check for a little leak on the steering hoses they're really close..
