Question 2001 v6 Mustang Bad Shape - Worth Keeping?

I'm new here on AFM so ello everyone
i have a 2001 v6 3.8L mustang automatic and it is in really bad shape

i got it from my grandmother as my first car and i would like to know if is it savable enough for me to keep it?

for starters the transmission seems to be shifting funny (feels like it shifts at wrong moments or low/high rpm where i feel jerk in the car), the power steering makes loud sounds when i turn the wheels, the door locks do not lock or unlock at all they try but no luck, power windows roll up to high to where they hit the roof when closed.

it has also been hit on the front passenger light the frame was whaled back straight but the light is still busted the bracket that holds the light in is broken, also the mass air flow thingy (sry I'm mustang illiterate) will not close and when it rains water gets in from the driver side window.

other then all that the car is fine. (needs a wipe down though and wider rims&tires)

oh ya i also want to change it from a automatic to a manual(never liked automatics. good idea or bad?) (if i keep)

I don't think the whole thing of automatic to manuel is worth buying a whole different car. Just drive the automatic.

def worth keeping, i just purchased a 97 v6 mustang for 500 bucks it was wrecked over a median like a curb one, and just replaced the oil pan and 4 wheels and tires and it started right up,so its worth keeping like that 1st guy said lil TLC check junk yards for some parts till ya can afford the good stuff

Mine was it really bad shape when I bought it. Busted out passenger side window and also the window motor was broke, tires were bald, wheels rusted, Windshield cracked, headlights foggy and cracks, 3rd brake light cracked, exhaust rusted, small dings, tint purple and peeling, and interior torn. I got it for about 2 grands and fixed it up and am 100% happy I did. You should fix it up but sell and get a manual if an auto isn't your thing

The power steering noise is a common problem with the stangs but you may also want to check the fluid. 2nd the door locks are easy to change they're sold on ebay for 25bucks each new, I bought used ones for my stang for 15bucks each and they test them for me. How much miles does that car has? and how much did you paid for it.. after this I will give you a list of mods but first of all I think I tune up will be great.. I almost forget and to AFM!! Buddy...

Oh man with all those miles I think is not worth it... You will soon need to rebuild your tranny or engine or its already done....
